LIVE HELP:

  • ALL fabric corsets (satin, dupioni silk, brocade, novelty [cotton] are treated with ScotchGard fabric protectant. ALL linings (regardless of outer shell) are treated as well.
  • It's recommended that you wear a thin tube top or similar garment under your corset if you plan to wear it for an extended period of time. This will protect the fabric from the dirt and oils on your skin.
  • It is beneficial to occasionally re-apply ScotchGard to fabrics (NOT PVC OR LEATHER) to keep the fabric from staining. Follow directions on the can.

Novelty (cotton) - Dry clean only. Treat spots with a mild detergent (such as Woolite, or even handsoap) and cool water. DO NOT BLEACH!

Satin - Dry clean only. Treat spots with a mild detergent (such as Woolite, or even handsoap) and cool water. DO NOT BLEACH!

PVC - best sponged off with cold water, with a light addition of detergent if the corset has come into contat with something sticky. Rinse the sponge well with cold water and re-wipe to remove soapy residue.

Brocade - Dry clean ONLY. Can be spot treated with a damp cloth/sponge and minimal amount of mild detergent. DO NOT BLEACH!

Leather - Clean with leather conditioner. This should be done often to maintain the integrity of the leather, and to help it last a long, long time. Every leather corset comes with a bottle of conditioner. Consult a professional leather cleaner for additional information.

Silk Dupioni - Dry clean ONLY. DO NOT use water to treat spots - it can cause the fabric dye to run or stain. Consult a professional cleaner. DO NOT BLEACH!

These tips are just that - tips. I'm not a proffesional cleaner, nor do I know how every fabric will react with every detergent/stain remover. PLEASE CONTACT A PROFESSIONAL WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE! I am not responsible for any damage done to a corset once it has left my studio.
